It's time for another episode of Spy x Family and fans finally got to meet Yuri Briar, the younger brother of Yor Forger who had no idea that she recently got married. Not surprisingly, Yuri immediately paid the Forgers a visit in Episode 8 and it didn't take long before he has a meltdown over his sister's marriage and for some reason, loses it over "Lottie"! SPY X FAMILY EPISODE 8 SPOILERS BELOW, PROCEED WITH CAUTION!
In Spy x Family Episode 8, we first get a glimpse at Anya Forger's progress at Eden Academy where it is clear she isn't doing well with her studies. It's a major concern for Loid Forger who is convinced she'll get more Tonitos than Stellas, but there are other things to worry about as a spy is discovered at the Berlint City Hall where Yor works.
Interestingly, Camilla informs Yor that Dominic has told Yuri about her marriage and that Yuri is planning to see the family later that day. A panicked Yor rushes to warn Loid, who assures her he has a backup plan.
Not surprisingly, Yuri is late as he had been interrogating the Berlint City Hall spy earlier that day. Both he and Loid are wary of each other despite the warm greetings and Yuri immediately begins questioning the couple about their relationship. At one point, he asks Yor if she has a nickname for her husband like "Loi-Loi" or "Lottie" then despairs at the thought and begins drinking heavily.
Things get even more heated as Yuri realizes Loid is a great man but refuses to acknowledge this, instead declaring that he is the only family Yor has and asks "Lottie" if he can protect her.
Spy x Family Episode 8 concludes with Yuri demanding that Yor and Loid prove their marriage by kissing in front of him. However, the scene ends just as Loid leans in to kiss his wife. Talk about a cliffhanger!
It's certainly a cool debut for Yuri Briar and now we can't wait to see how the rest of the scene will play out next week.
Spy x Family Episode 9 is titled Show Off How in Love You Are ("Rabu Rabu o Misetsukeyo") and will air on Saturday, June 4, 2022.
