Spy x Family’s Anya Recommends Shonen Jump Manga Kindergarten Wars in Promo Video

It may be a while before we see her in anime form, but Anya Forger continues to be a constant presence. Recently, Spy x Family’s Anya recommended the Shonen Jump+ manga Kindergarten Wars in a new promo video.

Jump+ shared this new video on its official Twitter account, and it features Anya (voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki) and Bond as they explain what Kindergarten Wars is and why it’s a must-read.

While Anya may still be a kid, she pretty much has the job of being the Jump+ mascot.

Spy x Family is easily one of the most popular manga and anime right now, and this is thanks in large part to how cute and often hilarious Anya is in the series.

Aside from being a loveable goofball, Anya also has a ton of meme-worthy faces.

So, it’s no surprise that she is pretty much the mascot of Shonen Jump+, Shueisha’s free manga platform.

While she’s not on the Jump+ logo, she is a constant fixture in many advertisements for Jump+ titles.

In a way, you can think of Anya being what Luffy is to Shonen Jump.

For instance, Luffy is on the logo of Manga Plus, Shueisha’s international manga platform. Though Luffy doesn’t appear in many commercials, unlike Anya.

Given that Spy x Family won’t end anytime soon, we’ll probably see lots more of Anya in the years to come.

Kindergarten Wars Manga Story and Release Details

As for the latest manga that Anya is promoting, Kindergarten Wars is a fairly new title as it only began serialization in Jump+ back in September 2022.

While its title seems to imply that the series will feature a war between kindergarteners, the series instead follows Rita, an assassin who is tasked to defend a kindergarten class from assailants.

Since the show stars a cute yet deadly assassin, it’s no surprise that Anya is promoting it. After all, her mama is quite similar.

Interestingly, Kindergarten Wars is edited by Shihei Lin, the same editor that oversees Spy x Family, Chainsaw Man, and Dandadan. This makes Anya’s new commercial even more fitting.

New chapters of Kindergarten Wars are released every week for free on Jump+. Though for now, the manga hasn’t received an English simulpub release yet.
