Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse is Officially Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes

Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse will hit theaters this week, and the positive reviews for Sony Pictures Animation's superhero film continues to roll as its release date approaches. For a film to achieve the "Certified Fresh" honor, it needs to get an average higher than 75 percent after a total of 80 reviews have been submitted. The film didn't just meet those requirements, it's also one of the best-reviewed films released this year with a current aggregate score of 99%.

The film's critical consensus on Rotten Tomatoes reads:"Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse matches bold storytelling with striking animation for a purely enjoyable adventure with heart, humor, and plenty of superhero action."

At the time of this writing, there are 86 out of the 87 reviews for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse. featured on Rotten Tomatoes have been positive.

With these positive reviews, it's not surprising that Sony Animation and the Spider-Verse producers are already developing an animated franchise with the direct sequel being produced and will focus on Miles Morales, and spin-off focused on Spider-Gwen and other women.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is set to release in theaters on December 14.
