Synopsis for Spider-Man: Far from Home Possibly Revealed

Much to everyone's dismay, the release of the Spider-Man: Far from Home trailer has been delayed, and it's possible that we could be getting it after Into the Spider-Verse comes out. With no big reveal last week, it's possible that we may have gotten the synopsis for the movie instead.

This comes from insider Daniel R on Twitter:

"Peter Parker and his friends go on a summer trip to Europe. However, they will hardly be able to rest - Peter will have to agree to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of creatures that cause natural disasters and destruction throughout the continent."

Though we should take this info with a grain of salt, it does line up with the rumor that Spider-Man will have to deal with creatures called ‘Elementals' in the movie, and SHIELD will also be asking the help of Quentin Beck a.k.a. Mysterio to catch these creatures.

While a lot of people are angry that Mysterio isn't some kind of special effects artist in the film, I think it's very in character for him to pretend to be an investigator who is trying to catch ‘creatures' that he procured himself. Why does he do it? I imagine he's pretty much like Batman's Riddler, and is just in it for the attention. I'd be impressed if they could come up with a more sympathetic kind of reason.

We don't have any reason on why the trailer release was delayed, but some guess that it's because they don't want to pull away any focus from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. With Bumblebee, Aquaman, and Mary Poppins Returns to compete with, Spider-Verse already needs all the attention it can get.

Catch Spider-Man: Far from Home in theaters July 5, 2019.
