Sound! Euphonium finally made its long-awaited comeback a few months ago with the release of the Ensemble Contest OVA back in August. Now, a new Sound! Euphonium Season 3 trailer has just been shared, highlighting the new major character, Mayu Kuroe.
This is not the first preview video for the highly anticipated third season, but it’s our best look yet at what to expect.
After all, aside from showing off new clips featuring Mayu, other main characters also get the spotlight in the trailer.
Sound! Euphonium’s Next Season Will Introduce Mayu Kuroe
The Sound! Euphonium anime is made by the iconic studio Kyoto Animation (of Violet Evergarden and K-On! fame). This series began with the anime’s first season in 2015, followed by a second season in 2016.
Despite being a hit for KyoAni, the anime did not get a third season in the years that followed. There have been several anime projects though, including the two compilation films along with the 2019 movie.
This film was the last proper entry into the series until August this year when the Ensemble Contest OVA was released in Japanese cinemas. Following this OVA, fans can expect more as Season 3 is finally coming in Spring.
The characters from the previous seasons are returning for this new season, including the likes of Kumiko Oumae and Reina Kousaka. They will be joined by the new character named Mayu Kuroe.
This new character is an interesting addition to the cast as she’s also a euphonium player who transfers to Kitauji High School in her third year.
Voicing Mayu is Haruka Tomatsu, the VA of popular characters like Asuna Yuuki in Sword Art Online and Kyouko Hori in Horimiya.

Sound! Euphonium Season 3 Is Coming in Spring 24
This new season was announced a few months ago and has since been promoted through short character videos.
Now, the third season finally has a proper trailer, which gives fans a better idea of what to expect regarding the anime’s new arc.

As revealed previously, Sound! Euphonium Season 3 will be released in April 2024. There’s no word yet on a specific release date.
For viewers of the previous two seasons, watching the Ensemble Contest OVA first is recommended, though there’s currently no info yet on international release or streaming plans for it.
