Solo Leveling’s first season may be over, but fans can at least look forward to more in the future. That’s because Solo Leveling season 2 was confirmed shortly after the first season’s finale.
The new season was revealed with an announcement video that features the protagonist Sung Jin-Woo in what seems to be a winter outfit.
Along with this new coat, Jin-Woo also looks a bit different in that he looks even more menacing. This all but confirms that he’ll get even more powerful in the coming season.

Solo Leveling Season 1 Finale Sees Jin-Woo Unlock a New Power
After episode 11 saw Sung Jin-Woo in dire straits, Solo Leveling episode 12 opened with him facing off against a wave of enemies.
While it seems to be a hopeless situation, Jin-Woo powers through it and manages to complete the job change quest. There, he discovers that the new job that he unlocked is a necromancer.
This surprised Jin-Woo, especially as he hadn’t put anything in his intellect stat. What’s more, his skillset and combat style make him more of an assassin. On the flip side, necromancers typically fight in the backlines.
Jin-Woo was initially reluctant to accept this new class, though the system stated that this was a hidden class. Thus, Jin-Woo decides to accept the job change, and he proceeds to try out his new skills.
At the episode's end, Jin-Woo is shown summoning the shadow of Igris, the powerful Red Knight that he defeated.

Solo Leveling Season 2 Revealed with Announcement Video
The new Solo Leveling season 2 trailer did not feature much in the way of new footage, but it did show a short clip of Jin-Woo at the end with a slightly different appearance.
Given his new power gained in episode 12 coupled with this updated look, Jin-Woo should display even more powerful abilities in the second season.
While manhwa readers probably already know what to expect story-wise, there are not a lot of details about the next season so far regarding its premiere and episode count.

Solo Leveling Season 2 Release Date Predictions
As the first season only consisted of 12 episodes, chances are that season 2 will also be a one-cour series. This is likely given how high the production quality of the show is.
There’s also no word yet on a release date for the next season, so it’s likely that season 2 will be released in 2025.
