Solo: A Star Wars Story didn't just confirm Han's origin story – it also revealed the fate of other characters in the Star Wars franchise, including the ruthless bounty hunter Aurra Sing.
Making a brief debut in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, the character was given more detail in The Clone Wars animated series where Aurra Sing was presented as a coldblooded killer who teamed up with other popular Star Wars bounty hunters like a young Boba Fett and a Bossk. In the series, Aurra Sing was a competent antagonist who was pretty great at surviving, and though little was known about the fate of the character after The Clone Wars, the bounty hunter became an easy favorite.
Now, Solo: A Star Wars Story details the fate of Aurra Sing, revealing that the character was actually killed by Han's (Alden Ehrenreich) mentor, Tobias Beckett (Woody Harrelson). In the film, Han, Qi'ra (Emilia Clarke), and Beckett head out together to find a ship for their mission to gather unrefined hyperfuel at the spice mines of Kessel.
When Tobias meets Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover), the suave gambler comments that he's heard of the roguish smuggler, saying that Beckett was the man responsible for killing the bounty hunter Aurra Sing. Beckett then sheepishly jokes that he's the one who pushed Aurra Sing, though the smuggler is pretty sure that it was the fall that killed the bounty hunter.
That's a whole lot to take in, considering that Aurra Sing was a considerably well-known character from The Clone Wars. According to Screen Rant, Lucasfilm will be releasing a tie-in comic for Solo this August. Titled Star Wars: Beckett, the comic will explore the smuggler's backstory, which will most likely include Beckett's battle with Aura Sing.
