While the series has gotten a lot of fans over the Spring 23 season, it seems that Skip and Loafer Season 2 may still be up in the air as the manga’s creator urged fans to buy the Blu-ray if they can.
On Twitter, Skip and Loafer manga creator Misaki Takamatsu encouraged fans to watch the full show and buy the upcoming Blu-ray if they can afford it so that the “second term” is confirmed.
Misaki Takamatsu Asks Fans to Support Skip and Loafer by Buying Blu-rays
Skip and Loafer is the latest anime from P.A. Works, the studio behind last year’s viral hit Ya Boy Kongming! as well as Akiba Maid War.
This new work of the studio is a high school slice-of-life and romance series, though it’s not like your typical rom-com anime.
After all, it’s based on a seinen manga, so it’s more grounded and realistic.
Recently, creator Misaki Takamatsu shared her message to fans, where she hoped that they can continue supporting the anime, and maybe even buy the Blu-rays when the volumes are released.
This is an interesting case as some fans noted that it’s rare for creators to directly ask fans to buy the Blu-rays. Though most fans echoed her sentiment, with some expressing that they’d love to get the Blu-ray volumes.
The fact that Takamatsu herself tweeted this suggests that Skip and Loafer Season 2 has not yet been decided. Or at the very least, its renewal might hinge on the show’s Blu-ray sales.

Will There Be a Skip and Loafer Season 2?
It’s common knowledge among many anime fans that Blu-ray sales are a big indicator of an anime getting a second season, especially given that some productions can struggle from broadcast earnings alone.
Of course, there are some exceptions. For instance, despite the notably low BD sales, MAPPA CEO Manabu Otsuka stated that the Chainsaw Man anime is a financial success.
Still, for many other shows, having strong Blu-ray sales is a major factor in getting another season greenlit.
For now, we’ll have to wait and see how well Skip and Loafer’s Blu-ray sales are before we can expect a Season 2 reveal.
The chances aren’t bad though, as Skip and Loafer has a sizeable fanbase for a seinen manga.
After all, the series has over 1 million copies in circulation, not to mention that it won the 47th Kodansha Manga award in the General category.
