Silicon Valley's Kumail Nanjiani will Play an Alien in the Men in Black Reboot

Like every other viable Hollywood franchise, Men in Black is getting a reboot sequel, and the film will star Thor: Ragnarok's Chris Hemsworth and Tess Thompson. Now a new addition to the cast comes in the form of Silicon Valley's Kumail Nanjiani.

According to That Hashtag Show, Nanjiani will be playing a "wise-cracking, sex-driven" alien named Pawny. We don't have any more information on the character, but I think the "Pawny" name could be a reference to Tony Shalhoub's character Jack Jeebs, who is an alien in the original MIB who runs a pawn shop.

It's also worth noting that Nanjiani has played other non-humans before. He was the voice of Jarun Tann in Mass Effect: Andromeda, and he also The Agonizer in the game Middle-Earth: Shadow of War.

Ever since the release of The Big Sick, Nanjiani's star has significantly risen. Though he has gotten smaller roles in movies before, now we are seeing him take on more roles in the spotlight. I'm just hoping he doesn't get to busy to finish his work on HBO's Silicon Valley; he is just fantastic in that show.

F. Gary Gray's Men in Black comes out June 14, 2019.
