It has been a long time since we got any news about Sherlock Holmes 3. Luckily, Robert Downey Jr.'s wife and production partner Susan Downey has shared an awesome update on the highly anticipated sequel.
Robert Downey Jr. has already made it clear that he wants to work on a third Sherlock Holmes movie. The Avengers: Endgame actor confirmed his interest in the project but also pointed out that he has a lot on his plate.
But that doesn't mean that his production Team Downey has forgotten about Sherlock Holmes 3. Susan Downey and producing partner Amanda Burrell were recently a guest on the UnWrapped podcast where they discussed their plans for the sequel.
"Well, here’s what I can tell you, and Amanda can attest to this. Prior to this, we had lunch together with Robert, the three of us. And it was a very specific topic of conversation," Downey said. "So yes, it is in the hopper. We’re going to do it when it’s right, with the right people, but it is a priority for the company and a priority for Robert."
It's great to know that Robert Downey Jr. is still committed to a third movie. After all, fans are already looking forward to Sherlock Holmes 3.
For now, the details of the third film have not yet been revealed. However, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows director Guy Ritchie has made it clear he wants to be involved in the project.
"So Robert wanted to be in charge of this," Ritchie said. "The ball's in his court, so he's in charge of the script, he's in charge of the whole thing. I've moonwalked out of that until there's a time for me to get involved."
Sherlock Holmes 3 has not yet been given an official title but Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law are expected to return for the project. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
