She-Hulk: How I Met Your Mother Star Jason Segel Rumored to Play The Thing

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is set to make its premiere soon and fans have been looking forward to seeing the titular hero's debut in the MCU. While we do know that the series will be in a legal procedural format, most of the plot details have been under wraps. Now, a new rumor has emerged about the upcoming series that claims that it will feature the debut of a Fantastic Four character.

As reported by ScreenGeek, a rumor has been spreading on Reddit that originated from 4chan regarding She-Hulk: Attorney at Law which claims that The Thing/Ben Grimm is set to make his MCU debut in the series and he will be played by How I Met Your Mother star Jason Segel in a motion-capture suit.

According to the rumor, Jennifer Walters will have a mystery client who only communicates to her through a different lawyer. It will be revealed later on to be The Thing, who is fighting a defamation case. He will allegedly appear in the last episodes of the series where he will have a fight scene against the Wrecking Crew and share the screen with She-Hulk and Daredevil.

We do have to take note that none of the information has been confirmed by Marvel or anyone involved in the series so we have to take it with a grain of salt. If The Thing does appear in the series, it is very likely that they will keep his role under wraps to surprise the audience once he shows up on the screen.

It is hard to tell whether there is validity to this rumor since it didn't come from a source that has a good track record. It would also be weird to have Marvel introduce The Thing in one of their TV series instead of the Fantastic Four film that is currently in the works. There's also the fact that the inclusion of the character will require a lot of VFX work which might not be plausible in a TV series that already has a lot of CGI characters given the limited budget that they have.

You can make a case that the rumor might be true since Marvel has done a lot of surprise cameos in their films and TV shows in Phase Four and The Thing's appearance will be a great surprise to the audience. However, there is not a lot of sufficient evidence to say that this rumor has strong validity. Let's just wait and see once the show airs whether this is true or not.
