Shazam! Merchandise May Have Revealed the Seven Deadly Sins

Shazam looks to be one of DC's better movies and should continue gaining momentum for Warner Bros. now that Aquaman has proven to be a worldwide success. Fans can't wait to see how Billy Batson and his supporting cast are used in live-action, with a lot of interest going to Mark Strong's Doctor Savannah and the Seven Deadly Sins, the latter of which has fans wondering what they will look like.

Well, if this sneak peek from Toy Ark is anything, it looks like the Seven Deadly Sins will be based on the statues that represent each sin. Based on these toys, it looks like the sins are going to be more animalistic in nature, looking more like Jeff Smith's versions of the group in Shazam and The Monster Society of Evil.

The Seven Deadly Sins were also briefly seen in Geoff Johns' standalone Shazam story that originally ran as backup stories for Justice League, all of which were collected into one nice graphic novel. Still, judging by the toys, it seems like these will be more of an animalistic threat, just like The Trench were in Aquaman, which is what we were told so this all lines up.

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson's case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam, courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still, a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he'll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana.

Shazam comes out on April 9.
