Considering how completely unforgettable (not to mention, iconic) Jenna Ortega’s performance as Wednesday Addams did for the fans, even Scream VI editor Jay Prychidny admitted how the Addams family member influenced Ortega’s performance as Tara.
Ortega has come a long way since one of her earliest breakout roles on Disney’s Stuck In The Middle. Apart from constantly being associated with Wednesday Addams, this offered more new doors to broaden her career.
That said, one of those roles is returning to Scream VI as Tara, which the editor described as a “different character” from the Netflix Addams series.
“Wednesday and Tara are such different characters.” Prychidny told in a recent interview with ScreenRant, “I actually saw Scream V in theaters before I knew I was going to be working on this film.”
He added, “It shocked me because I’d been used to Jenna [Ortega] being this very contained, very quiet, very small character, and expressing so much with so little.”
“To go in to see Scream V and see her screaming and crying and waiting and in distress?” Prychidny continued, “It was like, ‘Whoa.’ It totally surprised me and really took me off guard.”

“That was something I did think about, in terms of Jenna’s performance.”
He added trying not to make Scream all ‘Wednesday’ for Jenna, “Not to make it Wednesday or anything like that, but just to get her to be a bit more internal, as well.”
“I like that aspect, and she’s so good at it. And so, I did tone Tara a little bit differently than in Scream V for that reason.”
Prychidny is right in the sense that despite Ortega being involved with two horror projects, she was also able to perform as two different people.
Her range as a performer in Wednesday as the ‘scarer’ versus being the survivor running and screaming in the other film brings even more food to the plate for Ortega to sign deals with in her future.
