Loki (Tom Hiddleston) might have been choked to death by Thanos and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) might have been turned to dust in Avengers: Infinity War, but it looks like the Marvel characters are being brought back to focus with their very own television series for Disney's upcoming streaming service platform, Disney Play.
As per Variety, Disney is preparing different series centered on Loki, Scarlet Witch and other Marvel superheroes who have yet to receive their very own standalone movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The most exciting part is that unlike Marvel Television's small screen projects with characters that aren't allowed to appear in the MCU, the Loki and Scarlett Witch television series are to feature their respective MCU stars Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen.
Though the publication reports that sources close to the production of the projects are trying to keep their lips sealed about the different series' programming costs, word has it that Loki and Scarlet Witch are both expected to receive weighty budgets from Disney that rival the budgets of big studio productions. Each series is expected to run from six to eight episodes with Marvel Studios as its producer and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige taking a "hands-on role in their development."
This means that the shows won't be falling under Marvel TV and ABC Studios, keeping clear off the umbrella created by Marvel on Netflix which includes shows like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, and of course, The Defenders.
Marvel still hasn't tapped any writer for Scarlet Witch and Loki. Both series are also without an official release date.
Disney Play is expected to launch sometime next year.
