Avengers 4 Reveal Coming in December? Marvel's Solicitations Confirm 'Untitled' Comic Prelude

Marvel released their December 2018 solicitations and it revealed something huge; a comic book tie-in to the next Avengers movie. The issue itself doesn't look to be anything special and seems to be a comic adaptation of Avengers: Infinity War but the fact that Marvel will be releasing it in a few months could mean that we will get the actual title to Avengers 4 soon.

Currently, the comic prelude is called Marvel's Avengers: Untitled Prelude #1 and will be a three-issue mini-series. This will actually be an issue longer than most MCU preludes that Marvel releases, so that should be interesting. Then again, it could just be that way because the film is pretty long.

Since the three-issue series is coming out in December, we could be getting an official title reveal for Avengers 4 soon. Fans have been speculating on the film's title since the end of Infinity War so it might be relieving to know that the official title could be revealed in two to three months.

The Infinity War prelude actually did a good job at hyping up the film, showing what Steve's group of Secret Avengers were doing between Civil War and Infinity War. We also got to see Tony work on his new Bleeding Edge armor and Doctor Strange study up on the Time Stone. It seems like we won't be getting anything similar for this prelude, which is slightly disappointing but understandable.

It would be hard to make a story between Infinity War and whatever Avengers 4 is going to be called. Marvel might have the sequel set directly after the events of Infinity War so this comic won't provide any new information. The solicitation doesn't even tease new scenes as the previous one did.

Avengers 4 is slated for a May 3, 2019, release.
