Sasha Calle made her debut as Kara Zoe-El/Supergirl in the new DC film The Flash. Her introduction was supposed to be the beginning of potentially more appearances in the franchise as the iconic Kryptonian character.

However, with the upcoming reboot of the franchise under the new leadership of DC Studios, her future in the role has now become uncertain and it is unknown at this point whether she will reprise the character again in the future.

Given that her performance in the film has been receiving raves, a lot of people are hoping that she will still continue in the role and fortunately it looks like that is now a possibility.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Calle was asked whether she wants to continue playing Supergirl in future projects and she revealed that she doe hope that she'll be able to reprise the role again.

"Absolutely, are you kidding me? I love her so much and I feel her very deeply. I think this movie was a runway to a better story for her," she said.

The actress is hoping that she'll be able to explore the day-to-day life of Supergirl if she ever returns to play the role.

"I just want to dive deeper into Kara and her feelings into her day-to-day. I would just love to see her in regular clothes, in human clothes. As a fan, the whole time that I was filming, I kept thinking, 'What would she wear? What glasses would she wear?'" Calle added.

"[In The Flash], we don't meet her human, realized self, so as a fan, that would be something very cool."

In another interview with USA Today, Calle also revealed that she recently had talks with DC Studios co-chairman Peter Safran regarding the possibility of continuing to play the role.

She said, "I hope to continue playing Supergirl. I love her so deeply and I feel so connected to her."

Based on Calle's comments, it sounds like there is still a possibility for her to play the role in the new DCU franchise since she already had conversations with DC Studios about it.

We do know that they are working on a Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow movie which means that they must be looking for actresses to play the hero in the DCU and, with the existence of the multiverse, the possibility of Calle returning to the role is certainly out there.

For now, let's wait and see whether this will end up happening and fans are hoping that it will be the case.
