The Flash featured a lot of cameo appearances from several actors/characters from past DC movies and TV shows, especially near the end when they showed other multiverses that exist within the DC sphere.

One of the actors that allegedly made a cameo appearance in the sequence is Teddy Sears, who played Hunter Zolomon in CW's The Flash, as the Golden Age version of Jay Garrick/The Flash since the likeness that appeared on screen does look like him.

Sears' alleged cameo in the film baffled a lot of fans as they questioned why they didn't recruit the CW show's actual star Grant Gustin to make the cameo appearance instead.

As more people have seen the movie, we now have the clarification on whether Sears did appear for a cameo in the film and it looks like that might not be the case at all.

In an interview with TV Line, Sears debunked his alleged cameo appearance in The Flash movie and clarified that he didn't play the character on screen despite the similarity to his likeness.

"I mean… that looks like my likeness," he said after he was presented with a screenshot of the Jay Garrick appearance in the movie.

"People kept telling me that I was in the new Flash movie. I mean, I’m sleep-deprived with a newborn at home, so my memory is a little foggy. But I’m pretty sure I would have remembered shooting a major DC Studios film."

He added, "Sadly, I’m not in this" appearing alongside the other past DC actors who showed up in the sequence such as the CGI of Christopher Reeve and Adam West. Afterward, he said, "Thanks for confirming!" with a wink.

This should settle the debate amongst DC fans regarding Sears' alleged cameo in the film and we can now safely say that the Jay Garrick that we saw on screen was not him and it is also not played by a notable actor that we know.

Considering that Sears played an imposter Jay Garrick in the CW series, it also makes sense that he didn't make a cameo appearance during the sequence and it's only just a case where he was just too similar to the likeness which is why a lot of fans were mistaken about it.
