Marvel Studios is set to merely debut two MCU series for the year of 2023, which includes Loki Season 2 and Secret Invasion. Now, seeing as the second season of Tom Hiddleston’s series has yet to receive a stable release date, Secret Invasion is coming in hot with Samuel L. Jackson’s “one last fight” teaser alongside Emilia Clarke’s MCU debut.
Ahead of Secret Invasion’s release, a new listing from Disney+ has confirmed that Jackson has joined a historic MCU title amongst his previous co-stars. The streaming platform has just confirmed that Jackson is one of the executive producers of Secret Invasion.
Jackson just joined an exclusive group of MCU actors who had also previously executive produced on their own Marvel projects, and the list has Scarlett Johansson (the first MCU actor to become executive producer and lead star in Black Widow), Chris Hemsworth (Thor: Love and Thunder), Tom Hiddleston (for Loki), and Oscar Isaac (on his own MCU debut show Moon Knight).

Considering that Samuel L. Jackson has been with Marvel since 2008’s Iron Man, it’s been long overdue since he finally reserved credits on his involvement as an actor and in getting a say in what his character, Nick Fury, has in store for the next evolving Avengers team.
Now, seeing as the last time we found Nick Fury was way back in Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home, there are a lot more questions circulating on his disappearance and how he managed after reappearing amid The Blip bringing everyone back on earth.
Nick Fury has missed a significant amount of time to tell what his next step should be, and hopefully, Secret Invasion tells the whole plan he has in store for MCU fans. As recently released along with its official series trailer, Secret Invasion’s plot synopsis reads:
“Set in the present day MCU, Nick Fury learns of a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls. Fury joins his allies, including Everett Ross, Maria Hill, and the Skrull Talos, who has made a life for himself on Earth.
