Ryan Reynolds won his first-ever Emmy Award at last night's Creative Arts ceremony in Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program for Welcome to Wrexham. He shared the victory with the other producers of the series including Rob McElhenney.

The hit FX docuseries chronicles Reynolds' and McElhenney's journey as the new owners of the Welsh association football club Wrexham A.F.C. and was recently renewed for a third season.

This was also Reynolds' first Emmy Award nomination after three decades in showbusiness although the actor has rarely done TV work ever since encountering big-screen success.

But to celebrate last night's Emmys victory, the actor showed as his iconic character, Deadpool, to thank the Television Academy for this achievement.

Following his Emmy win, Ryan Reynolds shared a victory speech video on social media where he is in character as Deadpool and accepted the award on behalf of "Mr. Lively" (referring to the actor being the husband of Blake Lively) while holding a broken Emmy trophy.

As expected, the actor gave a hilarious message in his acceptance speech and even made a reference to Deadpool 3, promising Disney he will "not f*ck up" the next movie.

"Wow. Mr. Lively couldn't be here to accept this broken Emmy. He sent me on his behalf. First and foremost, Wrexham, we love you. Thank you for letting Rob and the other guy tell your story. Cymru am byth, b*tches," he said.

"I'd also like to thank The Academy for this honor and for not asking us to attend the televised awards show with the real celebrities. I'd also like to thank FX and Disney for their support and in exchange, Mr. Lively promises not to f*ck up my next movie."

He concluded, "Lastly, the Oscars, you're unnoticed, motherf*ckers. Maybe we can get a token VFX nod next year. The amount of Hugh [Jackman] and Ryan's face alone is worth the nod."

Reynolds has always been known for doing funny social media posts and videos so it's not surprising that he did the same for his Emmy victory speech and even turned it into Deadpool 3 marketing material by being in-character as the Merc with a Mouth.

On a more serious note, it is wonderful to see the actor nab his first major industry award after a decades-long career and the video is a great treat for fans as he used it as an opportunity to make another hilarious Deadpool social media post that they enjoy.

Deadpool 3 is slated for release in theaters on July 26, 2024.
