Rurouni Kenshin July Release Date Revealed In New Teaser

The legendary Hitokiri Battousai is coming this July! A new teaser for the Rurouni Kenshin remake just dropped a new teaser and it confirms the anime's July release date.

The new teaser for Rurouni Kenshin doesn't feature a lot of new footage. However, it does introduce the ending theme Kissaki by Reol. Check it out below.

The ending theme isn't the only major surprise in the new teaser. It was also confirmed that Rurouni Kenshin will premiere on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block and other venues on July 6, 2023.

International fans are also in for a treat. Anime News Network confirms that Rurouni Kenshin will hold screening events in Japan, the United States, France, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and South Korea.

In Japan, there will have two screenings on June 18 at Tokyo's United Cinema Aqua City Odaiba. The event will be attended by cast members Soma Saito, Rie Takahashi, Makoto Koichi, and Taku Yashiro.

Rurouni Kenshin will star Soma Saito as Kenshin Himura, Rie Takahashi as Kaoru Kamiya, Makoto Koichi as Yahiko Myojin, and Taku Yashiro as Sanosuke Sagara.

Cells at Work! Code Black director Hideyo Yamamoto will direct the anime at Liden Films while Terumi Nishii is designing the characters. Hideyuki Kurata is in charge of series composition and Yu Takami has been confirmed to compose the music.

Rurouni Kenshin is based on the manga by Nobuhiro Watsuki and will follow Kenshin Himura, a soft-spoken wanderer who saves dojo owner Kaoru Kamiya from a murderer who claims to be Hitokiri Battosai, an infamous assassin from the Bakumatsu.

The manga has been adapted into an anime back in the 1990s along with several OVAs and a series of live-action films. The movies starred Takeru Satoh as Kenshin Himura, Emi Takei as Kaoru Kamiya, Munetaka Aoki as Sagara Sanosuke, and Yu Aoi as Takani Megumi.

Rurouni Kenshin will premiere on July 6, 2023.
