A Rise of the Guardians Sequel Could be in the Works

Dreamworks gave a new twist to old folklore when they released Rise of the Guardians back in 2012. Since then, the movie hasn't gotten any follow-up, but a rumor has come out that a sequel is actually in the works and fans should try to build up the hype.

Just so you know, Joyce was an executive producer on Guardians, and he also has a lot of other animation titles under his belt like Robots and Meet the Robinsons. He's also the creator of classic kids animation show Rolie Polie Olie.

When Rise of the Guardians was first teased, a lot of people were excited for the new twist on classic folk characters like Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny. It also helped that fantasy legend Guillermo del Toro was also attached as executive producer of the film. Ultimately, the movie ended up with moderate success in the box office; but a lot of people do consider the film to be underrated.

Personally I thought the film was okay. When it comes to animated movies, I think the truly great ones are films that can be fun for both adults and children. Rise of the Guardians was more a kids movie for me, but then again, that's just my opinion. I think the world is fantastic though, and it's definitely worth a revisit. Maybe we can cover a new set of folk characters this time around? It's just an idea.

A Rise of the Guardians sequel has not been officially announced.
