Ron Howard On Taking On Another Star Wars Film After Solo


Solo: A Star Wars Story's production was in so much trouble before the arrival of Ron Howard. Lucasfilm decided to part ways with Christopher Miller and Phil Lord, the original directors of the Star Wars spinoff movie.

Directorial changes aren't uncommon in Hollywood, but fans were very concerned when the studio decided to ax both Miller and Lord despite the two being three-fourths complete with the film. Fortunately, Lucasfilm was able to land Howard a few days after deciding to part ways with Chris and Miller. Howard turned the film's disorganized production around, creating a film that many Star Wars fans enjoyed despite its poor box office turn out.

Now, speaking in an interview with Metro about the potential of directing another Star Wars film after handling Solo, Howard admits that he had a great experience on set and that he would be willing to return depending on the story Lucasfilm offers.

"I had a great experience with that. It would depend entirely on the story," Howard told the site. "My daughter Bryce [Dallas Howard] is thrilled. She's been announced to be directing one of the new episodes of the series headed by Jon Favreau."

It seems like Howard didn't need to wait long to return to the franchise. , Thanks to Bryce Dallas Howard's experience working on The Mandalorian, Howard is reliving his Star Wars moment, joining a "creative, inspired group of movie lovers who make those projects."

Set after the fall of the Empire, The Mandalorian follows the story of "a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic."

The Mandalorian doesn't have a release date yet, but the series is set o premiere on Disney's streaming site which launches in 2019.
