Ahsoka Voice Actress Offers An Update On Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7

It's been ten years after Star Wars: The Clone Wars made its debut, and after years of quiet, Lucasfilm decided to continue the popular Star Wars animated series, telling fans at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con International that the show would return for a seventh season. Now, it looks like Ashley Eckstein, the voice-actor of fan-favorite Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano, has a little update for the Star Wars fanbase.

Speaking with CBR about the upcoming Clone Wars revival during the 2018 New York Comic Con, Eckstein thanked fans for their undying support and discussed a number of things about the upcoming 12-episode run of the series. Not only did the voice actress touch on Clone Wars showrunner Dave Filoni's role in the return of the series but why the cast's recording seasons for season 7 felt a whole lot like working on "old radio drama."

"We're currently recording. That's all I can say," Eckstein laughs during the interview. "So it's coming to the Disney streaming service. And that's about it. But, you know, I can promise -- obviously, Dave Filoni is a part of it and he's done his best to bring back a lot of the key people that were a part of the show, pretty much all the cast members and then also some of the main crew members. The stories are incredible, the people are incredible and anything that Dave Filoni touches is going to be amazing."

Eckstein also offers a few updates on her character Ahsoka, talking about the changes in the voice actresses approach to the younger Ahsoka and the Ahsoka we're going to see in season 7.

"Well, it's so funny because, after Clone Wars and when I jumped into Rebels, it was actually pretty hard for me to do Rebels Ahsoka because she was that much older and she was a whole lot more like Obi-Wan rather than Ahsoka from Clone Wars," the voice actress explained. "She was more of the mentor now, the teacher, and so it took me a while to get into that role, and then now I have to go back to Clone Wars, so I have to unlearn everything that I learned and that place I went to for Rebels Ahsoka and go back to Clone Wars Ahsoka and really, I mean, this is after she walks down those steps. "

O course, Eckstein refused to give away any major secrets. There's been a lot of anticipation building up over the return of The Clone Wars. While the series was a big hit among Star Wars fans, Clone Wars ended with six seasons. Now, after years and years of quiet, Lucasfilm has finally decided to give the show the conclusion it deserves.

Clone Wars season 7 doesn't have a release date yet, however, the season is to be released on Disney's upcoming streaming service next year.
