Rogue One: A Star Wars Story TV Spot Released

A 30 second TV spot for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has been released and can be seen on YouTube. The trailer doesn't show a lot of new footage, but the text and commentary that accompanies it might lend some insight into the movie. You can see the trailer below:

The trailer features Jyn Erso heavily and includes her well-known "This is a rebellion, isn't it? I rebel" line. Scenes from the trailer are interspersed with the text "Hope begins with rebellion". This line is likely meant to be a reference to how Rogue One is a prequel leading in to the first Star Wars movie, which is called Star Wars: A New Hope.

The teaser ends ominously with a close up on Jyn in Imperial clothing as Forest Whitaker's character intones "who will you become?" The trailer makes sure to remind everyone that Rogue One will be on Cinemark XD. The trailer also shows off several of the talented actors in Rogue One, including Diego Luna and Riz Ahmed.

It's definitely a bit unusual to have a TV spot before a full trailer is released, but even without new footage, this will surely get some fans hyped for the new movie. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will premiere on December 16th. The movie will tell the story of the rebel spies who stole the weapon plans off of the Death Star.
