Robert Downey Jr. Set To Lead New Movie With Star Wars Writer

Robert Downey Jr. may be widely known for his Marvel Studios role as Tony Stark / Iron Man, however, the MCU actor is also versatile when it comes to picking his own roles to add to his ever-expanding career path in Hollywood. While his rumored MCU return has yet to be confirmed, RDJ is currently eyeing a leading role in an upcoming movie where he is bound to work alongside newly hired Star Wars writer Steven Knight.

Who could have guessed RDJ working in the Star Wars franchise? Unfortunately, while this seems too good to be true, the Oppenheimer actor is not exactly joining the Star Wars franchise, but rather, in a movie remake of Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo, where Knight, who is also the creator of Peaky Blinders, is attached to pen its script.

According to Deadline, the upcoming remake, Vertigo, is based on the 1954 novel D’entre les morts (From Among the Dead) by Pierre Boileau and Thomas Narcejac, which is a psychological thriller that was originally released in 1958.

Vertigo centers around an ex-police officer who has an intense fear of heights, and eventually had been hired to prevent an old friend’s wife from committing suicide. RDJ is currently eyeing for the lead role.
