Robert Downey Jr. Confirms He Knew About Endgame Since Age Of Ultron

Fans have just discovered that Tony Stark had somehow predicted Avengers: Endgame in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Not surprisingly, Robert Downey Jr. may have actually admitted that he knew all along about the plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

People recently found old interviews with Downey when he was promoting Age of Ultron. Interestingly, the Sherlock Holmes actor kept repeating the term "Endgame" since it is part of his dialogue in the film. If that's not enough, Downey himself posted stills from the movie on his official Facebook page and added a cheeky caption.

"Look how sneaky we are..." Downey wrote. Needless to say, the post had fans wondering if the Avengers: Infinity War star knew all along that the fourth Avengers movie will be called Endgame.

Although Tony Stark is the first Marvel character to say "Endgame" in the MCU, he certainly isn't the last. Doctor Strange's last words in Infinity War became an eerie throwback to the time when Tony pointed to the sky and wondered how they were planning to beat the greater threat. This might explain why Tony appeared so shocked after Stephen Strange said, "We're in the endgame now." He may have realized that he was right all along.

The scene might also be another reason why Tony appears so hopeless in the Endgame trailer. After seeing several of his companions get dusted and being left with Strange's haunting last words, it's not difficult to understand why Tony is ready to give up.

Avengers: Endgame will hit theaters on April 26.
