While they are cuddling in bed, Rick gets the surprise of his life when a Roomba suddenly zooms by him.

But why is Rick scared of a Roomba in The Ones Who Live? He may have never seen one in the past. To recall, when the zombie outbreak was starting, Rick was just in a coma.

A Roomba is a vacuum robot that can clean a room in intervals. The first Roomba model was introduced in September 2002. Three years later, the iRobot already sold a million units per year.

As of 2022, there have already been 10 generations of Roomba models. With over two decades in the market, iRobot reported that they were able to sell 40 million units.

Considering the first season of The Walking Dead came out in 2010, Rick would have already been familiar with a Roomba.

But then again, Rick is older than Michonne and grew up in the country. Michonne, on the other hand, is used to such things since she lived in the city before the zombie outbreak.
