Batman #99 Seemingly Brings Back Dick Grayson as Nightwing

When Nightwing #50 turned Dick Grayson into Ric Grayson, fans were beyond annoyed since it was a convoluted circumstance being done to separate the beloved hero from the Bat-Family. The Ric Grayson era of Nightwing did have a few bright spots but it did turn a number of fans off due to how it happened, even with a few improvements made that helped the story, including a scheme from The Court of Owls.

Thankfully, Dick Grayson seems to be coming back in full form as the cover of Batman #99 has revealed. Nothing like a dramatic comeback in the middle of a Joker War to make fans pop.

As part of the ongoing Joker War arc that has dominated Batman, it's likely that fans will need to read the Nightwing tie-in issues to see what's going on since Joker did decide to target Ric. It seemed like the solicitations were going to tease Ric going to the dark side but that doesn't appear to be the case if this cover is anything to go by.

Ric Grayson probably has a number of fans and it did make for an intriguing status quo but we're glad that it's over. It was a weird way to write the character away from Batman and his allies so we're just glad that the Bat-Family is going to reunite, even if Alfred isn't there to take care of them anymore.

Fans will be able to witness the proper return of Nightwing in Batman #99, which also continues the current Joker War storyline.
