Renfield: Robert Kirkman Addresses Possible Dracula Sequel

There is little doubt that Renfield had a relatively happy ending for Dracula's hapless assistant. But is there any possibility that there will be a second film in the future? Robert Kirkman addressed a possible sequel to the Nicolas Cage movie.

In Renfield, the titular servant worked with Rebecca to cut up Dracula's corpse and scattered it to prevent the vampire from reforming his body. Renfield then decided he could finally enjoy his freedom and live the life he wanted.

It might sound like it's happy ever after but Robert Kirkman admitted that he already has ideas for a possible sequel. The Walking Dead creator, who penned the screenplay for the Nicholas Hoult movie, confessed that his background made him consider the future.

"I'm a comic book writer and so my brain works that way. So when I was writing the treatment, I was like, 'Oh, I can do this and this and this.' Because my brain is all about what's the next issue? What's the next month? How's the cliffhanger payoff? What's going on here? What's going on there?'" Kirkman said.

"So I definitely have various different ideas for options on how the story could move forward, just because I can't help but do that," he continued. However, Kirkman also pointed out that a second film has not yet been confirmed.

"But it doesn't mean that a sequel is in the works," he stated.

At this point, it is unclear whether Renfield is getting a second movie. On the other hand, the film was so enjoyable that people are hoping Renfield will be back along with Dracula in the future. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
