Redbox Launches Its Own Streaming Service With Free Live TV


Redbox, the digital and physical movie rental service best known for its red kiosks, has launched its own free television streaming service.

Cord Cutters News reports that the Red Box streaming service is called Free Live TV, and it's a free alternative to Redbox's On Demand marketplace. Users can stream channels like TMZ, Today, and USA Today, and a few others. There are also channels that streams shows like America's Funniest Home Videos and Family Feud, but no big blockbusters.

According to Redbox's website, the service will roll out "soon" and is now limiting it to a "select audience".

Redbox offers Free Live TV with no sign in required. You can watch dozens of popular channels like TMZ, USA Today and FailArmy – including our very own Redbox channels featuring hand-picked collections of our personal favorites. With so much variety, there's something for everyone.

The service also has a guide with content show in categories such as Comedy, Featured Favorites, Epic Viral Videos, Celebrity & Entertainment News, and World & National News.

The Free Live TV feature will join the Redbox On Demand on the Redbox app on various streaming, TV, and mobile devices like Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast, Vizio Smart TVs, Android TV, LG Smart TVs, Samsung Smart TVs, Web Browsers on Windows, Mac, and Chromebook, iOS Devices, and Android Devices.
