The Punisher Star Wants to Play Flynn Rider in Disney’s Live-Action Rapunzel Remake

Marvel fans might know Ben Barnes as The Punisher's Billy Russo, but if the actor were to get his way, he'd return to the Disney family as a very, very different character.

Last week, word came out that the Mickey Mouse House was developing a live-action remake based on the Rapunzel fairy tale story. Naturally, fans decided to fan cast Barnes as the live-action version of Eugene Fitzherbert, the charming and witty swashbuckling thief in Disney's animated version of he Rapunzel story, Tangled.

Learning about the fan-cast, Barnes couldn't help but get himself on bard with the role. Taking to Twitter, the actor decided to let Disney know that he'd be up for the role, saying that he'd even go for the "little chin beard" of Flynn Rider.

"I am so up for this @DisneyStudios," Barnes wrote on his tweet, "Even down to the little chin beard! #Tangled"

It's great to see Barnes so eager about the fancast. We didn't really think that Barnes would want the role considering the fact that he played the unhinged Jigsaw in The Punisher. It's a pleasant surprise to see the actor wanting a role in a fairytale movie.

Of course, others might want to see Flynn Rider voice actor Zachary Levi play Eugene. However, the DC Extended Universe star might be too busy to play the part now that he's playing Shazam. Maybe Barnes could give it a try.

Let's wait and see who Disney might want to cast for the upcoming live-action Rapunzel movie.

The Punisher season 1 and 2 are available for streaming on Netflix.
