Red Hood and The Outlaws is Now Red Hood: Outlaw, as Jason Todd Goes Solo

Things haven't been good for Jason Todd aka Red Hood. The former Robin is currently on bad terms with the Bat-Family after he shot Penguin in the face and had to get help from his old ally Roy Harper to escape Batman's wrath. Harper won't be staying long with Todd either, as the Red Arrow will be checking into Sanctuary, which is probably why he might be dying in Heroes in Crisis.

Red Hood and The Outlaws writer Scott Lobdell told Newsarama that these changes are going to lead to a massive status quo for Todd and a name change for the comic. Starting with issue #27, the series will now be called Red Hood: Outlaw and is going to be a solo title for Jason Todd, at least for the time being.

Aside from the new title, Red Hood: Outlaw #27 will also debut the new look for Jason Todd revealed some time ago. It's a neat look that fans have gravitated too since he now has an actual red hood and uses a crowbar as a weapon. Joker killed him with a crowbar after all, so the fact that he is using it as his signature weapon should give fans mixed signals.

If we're being honest, the Red Hood books have always focused on Todd despite having other characters in there. It's actually a bit surprising that DC took their time before releasing a solo Red Hood book.

Red Hood: Outlaw #27 comes out this September.
