Jensen Ackles has single-handedly brought back speculations that a Batman spin-off project could be in the works. The Supernatural star has just posted a photo with a Red Hood costume and fans can't help but wonder if it's too good to be true.
It's no secret that Ackles is connected to the DC Universe. The actor played Lana Lang's love interest in Smallville Season 4. He also provided the voice of Jason Todd in the animated film Batman: Under the Red Hood. Not surprisingly, Ackles is still fond of the former Robin. Ackles' most recent photo on his official Instagram account confirms he has come face to face with Red Hood. Check it out below.
The picture is certainly a welcome image for fans who have long been hoping that Ackles would eventually play the character in a live action film. Although the My Bloody Valentine 3D star did not confirm any plans for a Red Hood movie just yet, it's good to know that he seems to be interested in a future DC project.
Jason Todd is definitely one of the more controversial characters in DC comics. Although Jason was killed by the Joker in the 1988 storyline Batman: A Death in the Family, he was resurrected and became the vigilante Red Hood in 2005. There have even been rumors that Ackles could take on the role and join the CW's Arrowverse but this has yet to be confirmed.
Ackles is currently filming Supernatural Season 14, which will only consist of 20 episodes. The new season is scheduled to premiere on The CW on October 11.
