Along with the announcement of a new anime, fans of the series are in for another treat as The Quintessential Quintuplets has a new PS4 and Switch game that will be released in a few months.
There have been two console games in the series before, so this is already the third release of its kind.
Similar to the first two, this upcoming title is a visual novel that’s developed by Mages, and it will be available in Japan in early September.
The Quintessential Quintuplets Gets Its Third Game
While there are lots of harem anime out there, The Quintessential Quintuplets is one of the most popular thanks to its interesting twist of having five siblings as potential love interests for the main character.
The series began as a manga by Negi Haruba, and it was soon adapted into an anime series consisting of two seasons.
Following Season 2, the anime’s story ended in The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie which was released last year.
Aside from anime, the series has expanded into other media, primarily video games -- the first of which is a puzzle game that was released on Android and iOS.
Notable video game developer Mages (of Steins;Gate fame) then worked on two visual novels which featured original stories. The first is set on a deserted island and was released on PS4 and Switch in 2021.
The next game is titled Five Memories of My Time with You. Unlike the first game, this one is based on The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie, essentially letting players experience the movie’s story in visual novel form.

The Quintessential Quintuplets: Five Promises Exchanged with Five Girls Release Date
The third game is officially titled Gotobun no Hanayome: Kanojo to Kawasu Itsutsu no Yakusoku (or The Quintessential Quintuplets: Five Promises Exchanged with Five Girls).
There aren’t a lot of details about the game right now, but based on the title, this might feature alternate scenarios of the protagonist Fuutarou Uesugi ending up with the girl of a player’s choice.
If this proves correct, the game should be a must-buy for dedicated fans of the series, especially given how divisive the story's ending was.
This new Quintessential Quintuplets game will be released on PS4 and Switch in Japan on September 7, 2023.
It might not get an English release though considering the previous two games were not released outside Japan.
