Professor X Confirmed and Cast for Legion's Final Season

It was only a matter of time but we are finally going to see Professor X in FX's acclaimed Legion show. Considering how the third season will be the series' swansong, this was an appropriate move and it will be interesting to see how they portray this iconic character. No, it won't be James McAvoy or Patrick Stewart but, let's be honest, who expected them to appear in this show?

According to Newsarama, Harry Lloyd will be playing the X-Men's leader and Legion's father. Stephanie Corneliussen will be playing Gabrielle, a woman Charles Xavier loved for a time and the mother of Legion. Expect these two to have some animosity towards each other since Charles broke up with Gabrielle and she didn't tell him that she was pregnant until Legion was a teenager.

While Xavier will be appearing in the series, it's not yet known if the X-Men will be making an appearance. The team have been mentioned a few times in the show and are a big part of another FX series The Gifted, though they are never seen in that series either. Considering how powerful Legion is, we're going to need the superhero group to take him down.

Legion season 3 will be the final season of the acclaimed show. This isn't a cancelation according to FX since showrunner Noah Hawley always planned this series to last three seasons.
