Production Of Todd McFarlane’s Spawn Reboot Delayed

It looks like the production of Todd McFarlane's Spawn reboot has been delayed with the beginning of principal photography being pushed back from its original end of 2018 start date to summer 2019.

Entertainment news site Production Weekly just recently took to Twitter to announce the news regarding the delayed production for the upcoming Spawn reboot saying that the project would begin filming in June 2019 while the team is currently busy scouting for filming locations in Toronto.

This would definitely mean a delay in the release of McFarlane's film, however, fans know that a rushed production would produce a rushed and low-quality film. It would definitely be better to allow Spawn to take the time that it needs to properly begin principal photography.

Besides, fans are pretty lucky. The project has long been in development, however, the Spawn reboot was only officially greenlit by Blumhouse Productions July last year under the leadership of Spawn's comic book creator Todd McFarlane. McFarlane is now set to write and direct the project.

While the Spawn Reboot has a smaller budget and smaller production compared to major studio comic book movie releases, Spawn does have major talent behind the project. Academy Award-winning actor Jamie Foxx is set to play the titular hero while Marvel's Jeremy Renner has been tapped to play the part of Detective "Twitch" Williams.

That's kind of star power is probably enough to make up for the film's rumored $10 to $12million budget.

Spawn doesn't have a release date yet but we'll let everyone know as soon as we get word.
