Spawn: Todd McFarlane Teases Greg Nicotero's Amazing Costume Redesign For Jamie Foxx

The Spawn reboot is going as well as we had hoped. Todd McFarlane has just offered an update on how Jamie Foxx's costume will look after Greg Nicotero created a practical redesign of the suit.

McFarlane recently spoke to ComicBook.com at the New York Comic-Con. The Spawn creator revealed that he had just met up with Nicotero prior to the interview. In addition to that, the Walking Dead special makeup effects supervisor has reportedly shown him the new Spawn costume.

"He's been bugging me, saying ‘Todd we have to get together, I'm bringing something, I want to show you something.' So I said ‘Ok, ok" and met him this morning and went up the stairs and then...I saw it. I saw for the first time physically, my Spawn."

McFarlane also shared that the costume is more practical and not "creature-like." However, he did confirm that Spawn would be more "super-hero-esque" and still appear like a human.

"I'm already going to be testing the bounds of the fans. I can't go too far. It has to feel like it's a man to at least 90 percent. But it can still be supernatural. It just won't be Jamie Foxx with some makeup, or him with a rubber mask, it's going to be more dramatic than that."

It certainly sounds like McFarlane already knows which direction he will be taking the reboot. Although we have yet to see the new costume design, the creator's excitement for Nicotero's work also has us all worked up. Hopefully, we'll get a glimpse of Foxx in the new costume really soon.

Spawn will also star Jeremy Renner as Detective Twitch. The Captain America: Civil War actor has just completed work on the still-untitled Avengers 4 and should have plenty of time to film the highly-anticipated reboot.

The Spawn has not yet been given an official release date.
