Anime live-action adaptations are nothing new, but it seems the trend has become even bigger. Soon, Pokemon will also get its first-ever live-action series adaptation as it will premiere this October.

The upcoming live-action series was announced previously. But now, more details about it were revealed, including more of the show’s cast. Before, only the main character was revealed.

Joining the main character are several well-known actors in Japan, though one cast member is a particularly popular actress that most anime fans should be familiar with.

Pokemon is a series that needs no introduction as it’s one of the biggest media franchises from Japan. While the franchise started as a video game series, it has ballooned into a huge franchise with anime and other projects.

Interestingly, there has not been any Pokemon live-action series made. The closest to this is the live-action Detective Pikachu movie a few years ago, but that was a Hollywood production.

Finally, a Pokemon live-action adaptation series was revealed by The Pokemon Company titled Pocket ni Boken wo Tsumekonde (Fill Your Pocket with Adventure in English).

While it has been known for some time now, it was only recently that a new visual was released that shows off the series’ main cast.

Most live-action anime adaptations like Netflix’s One Piece follow the story of the original anime. But this Pokemon series is different as it’s set in real life.

The series is said to be based on the original Pokemon Red and Green game, but its story follows Madoka Akagi, a girl who dreams of becoming a creator at a Japanese advertising agency.

The show’s main star is Nanase Nishino, an actress who is known for playing roles in the xxxHOLiC live-action movie and Shin Kamen Rider.

Joining Nishino is Aya Hirano, a popular Japanese actress who is also an iconic voice actress. After all, Hirano is the VA of Haruhi Suzumiya in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Lucy Heartfilia in Fairy Tail.

The Pokemon live-action series is co-produced by The Pokemon Company and TV Tokyo. This means it will air on Japanese TV, similar to the upcoming Ya Boy Kongming! live-action show.

This new Pokemon series will air in Japan on October 20, first on TV Tokyo and other affiliated channels.

For now, there’s no word on international release plans for the series.
