It’s been a long time coming, but Netflix and Studio M2’s Pluto anime will finally be released this week. To hype up the anime’s premiere, new Pluto anime trailers have been shared online.

A bunch of TV spots and a trailer-like commercial were shared on the anime’s official X (formerly Twitter) account. These new ads feature clips from the official trailer that Netflix released a few weeks ago.

It might not be a new shonen or isekai anime, but this upcoming series is shaping up to be a must-watch because of its staff and story.

The new Pluto anime is made by Studio M2, the studio founded by anime industry legend Masao Maruyama. M2 is Maruyama’s third studio as he co-founded Madhouse and started MAPPA.

This series has been in the works for six years now. It has taken a long time as Pluto is a passion project for Maruyama. After all, this series is based on the acclaimed manga by Naoki Urasawa.

Earlier this year, Netflix shared the first look at Pluto, which showed off its impressive animation.

A few weeks ago, Netflix shared the show’s official trailer, and it features even more action. Check it out here:

Pluto is based on a manga that’s a reimagining of Osamu Tezuka’s Astro Boy. Specifically, the series reimagines the The Greatest Robot on Earth story arc as a murder mystery.

While the series still features Atom (aka Astro Boy), the robot detective Gesicht serves as this series’ protagonist.

Pluto marks the fourth time that Maruyama spearheaded a Naoki Urasawa anime adaptation. That’s because Maruyama produced the anime adaptations of Yawara!, Master Keaton, and Monster at Madhouse.

With the show’s release just a few days away, a series of TV spots have been shared on the show’s official X account. These TV spots are also aired on Japanese TV.

On top of these, a 30-second commercial was also shared that features recut scenes from the official trailer.

Pluto will be released worldwide on Netflix on October 26, 2023. Much like other Netflix-produced anime, all episodes of the show will be available in one day.

Unlike most anime shows, Pluto will only have eight episodes, though each episode will be roughly 60 minutes in length. Effectively, the series is around as long as a 2-cour anime.
