PlayStation Classic Expected to Sell Millions This Holiday Season

Sony

Ever since Sony announced the PlayStation Classic last month, the upcoming mini video game console has been a hot topic in the gaming community. The mini version of the first PlayStation console will come with 20 pre-installed classic games, and although only 5 were announced so far, a lot of fans have already pre-ordered ahead of its December launch.

According to industry analyst Michael Patcher, millions of PlayStation Classic will be sold this holiday season, and of course, that would depend if Sony can keep up with the demand.

Speaking to Gamingbolt, Patcher said:

"There has been a lot of support for the Nintendo classic hardware, so I presume Sony will see similar success. They should be able to sell ‘millions' (around 1-2 million) without any problem if they choose to make that many. It's priced right, and the game lineup is pretty good for that price. I wouldn't be surprised if they sell 2-3 million this holiday and a similar number per year as long as they choose to keep manufacturing."
