Following the release of Episode 2, Oshi no Ko released the creditless opening and ending on its official YouTube channel, giving fans a tease of the major events to come in the anime.

The second episode may not have been as long or as shocking as the first one, but it still got enough attention to trend on Twitter.

While the shorter second episode was also a lighter affair, it does set up more moments that are sure to draw lots of attention.

Last week, YOASOBI released the official music video for their Oshi no Ko opening song Idol, which quickly got millions of views, enough to be called a contender for OP of the year.

Now, the official opening for the anime has been released. While fans expected the opening to be a shorter version of the music video, that wasn’t the case.

The show’s ending was also finally revealed, and it features the song Mephisto by the popular Japanese band, Queen Bee.

While the YOASOBI music video that trended mostly featured Ai Hoshino, the official opening instead puts the spotlight on Aqua and Ruby.

Also shown prominently is Kana Arima, the red-haired child actress who will be a major character.

The opening also features Akane Kurokawa and Mem-Cho – two characters that will play big roles in the coming episodes.

Meanwhile, the ending has a more contemplative mood, showing the inner feelings and memories of Aqua.

Fans React to Oshi no Ko's Opening and Ending

Even before the opening was shared, fans were already loving YOASOBI’s new song for the anime.

Aside from getting a lot of views, the song even topped Billboard Japan’s chart.

Now, with the opening and ending animations being released, fans have showered the anime with even more praise.

Many highlighted how the animation for the OP and ED is impressive, all while capturing the emotions of the characters, as well as the events that are yet to come.

While some details might not be noticed by anime-only viewers, eagle-eyed manga readers will no doubt see the many references and teases for the upcoming events that are sure to cause a lot of discussions online.

Oshi no Ko will continue with Episode 3, which will be released next week.
