After starting One Piece two years ago, popular YouTuber Cr1TiKaL (aka penguinz0) finally said that he now likes the series. Though Cr1TiKaL’s divisive take on Luffy sparked a big debate online among One Piece fans.
While Cr1TiKaL is best known for his video game content and internet culture commentary, he has also talked about his One Piece journey over the past two years.
Specifically, he started watching the One Piece anime two years ago, and he has mentioned how he doesn’t like the show. But his thoughts have now changed, as he revealed in a recent video.
Popular YouTuber Cr1TiKaL Shares Controversial One Piece Opinion
Previously, Cr1TiKaL was critical of One Piece, especially during its opening arcs. Since then, he hasn’t changed his opinion much, until now that is.
In his latest video titled I’m Finally Liking One Piece, Cr1TiKaL finally turned around on the series after watching the Water 7 and Enies Lobby arcs.
He opened the video by saying that he did not know why One Piece was considered good by so many people. But now, he started enjoying the series thanks to the two arcs.
This might not come as a surprise to fans, especially as Water 7 and Enies Lobby are considered by many to be among the series’ best arcs.
Still, some are surprised that it took so long for Cr1TiKaL to finally enjoy the series.
After all, many fans believe that the earlier Arlong Park or Alabasta arcs are when the series finally hits its stride.
Of course, his newfound appreciation for One Piece was a big moment for fans who keep up with his journey.
However, there is one take from Cr1TiKaL that sparked a debate.

Cr1TiKaL’s Luffy Opinion Sparks Debate Among One Piece Fans
Debates are a pastime of most anime fans online, so it’s unsurprising to see many share their two cents on Cr1TiKaL’s continued dislike of Monkey D. Luffy.
Despite liking the series now, Cr1TiKaL noted that he still finds Luffy annoying and not at all endearing like what many fans say he is.
As expected, many disagreed with his take, saying that Luffy is a lovable shonen protagonist.
But some believe that Cr1TiKaL’s dislike of Luffy is because he watches the English dub of the show.
Some fans say that Luffy’s iconic Japanese VA conveys his personality from the manga better, while others defended the English dub’s quality.
This debate will probably not end anytime soon, and the same can be said for Cr1TiKaL’s One Piece journey.
After all, if it took him two years to get to this part, it’ll probably take more years before he catches up to the anime, at least if it doesn’t end by then.
