As one of the biggest anime hits of 2022, it was no surprise that Spy x Family quickly got a second season announcement.

What’s more, it will get a movie with an original story that will also be released later this year, and it's titled Spy x Family Code: White.

Despite its December release date, Code: White got a trailer before the second season. This is surprising given that Season 2 is slated to premiere soon.

Finally, Season 2 got its first proper trailer, and you can watch it here:

Instead of focusing on the Cruise Adventure arc, the trailer previewed other moments that are also sure to excite fans. Among these are a potential date between Loid and Yor, as well as more Anya school hijinks.

Also revealed in the trailer are the show’s ending and opening themes. The new ending song is titled Todome no Ichigeki (or Finishing Strike in English) by Vaundy featuring Cory Wong.

Vaundy is a popular singer who is quickly becoming a fixture in anime. After all, he has performed songs for Chainsaw Man and Ranking of Kings.

As for its opening, the Season 2 OP is titled Kurakura by Ado, the popular Japanese artist who is best known for being the singing voice of Uta in One Piece Film: Red.

Instead of just singing one song for last year’s One Piece movie, Ado performed eight songs, enough for a proper album release.

Given the success of Film: Red and Ado’s popularity, it was inevitable that she would be tapped to perform more anime songs. Thus, it’s no surprise to see Spy x Family enlist her for its next opening.

Even though Ado is best known for her rather aggressive-sounding songs like Ussewa, her latest track sounds a bit more subdued, albeit with enough energy to match the anime.

Spy x Family Season 2 will premiere in the first week of October. Currently, there’s no confirmed episode count for it.
