While Netflix has finally given us a look at the upcoming live-action series, we’ve yet to get a good view of the Straw Hat Crew in full. Recently though, some screenshots of Zoro from the One Piece live-action series may have leaked online.
These screenshots seemingly show Zoro doing his signature three-sword style. Though emphasis must be put on "seemingly," as these screenshots are blurry, low-res images, meaning there’s not a lot of detail to be seen.
Still, fans buzzed with excitement given how little info we still have from the series.
One Piece Live-Action Official Info
Netflix and One Piece author Eiichiro Oda announced the live-action One Piece series way back in 2020.
Since then, we’ve gotten cast announcements and a behind-the-scenes on-set, though we’ve still yet to see a trailer.
In January, Netflix finally shared some teaser visuals for the series. The first is Luffy, who can be seen from the back with his signature straw hat.
Netflix also shared a visual via the show’s official page, showing a back view of the rest of the Straw Hat Crew members from the East Blue saga. These include Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji.
For the most part, the reception to the teaser images was positive, with many fans being cautiously optimistic about the show given the accuracy of the costumes.
Of course, fans are worried that this show might not be good, especially given the track record of other anime to live-action adaptations.
Nonetheless, there are reasons to be excited, the chief among them is that Oda himself is heavily involved in the series’ production. This sadly wasn’t the case with the panned live-action Cowboy Bebop series.

Netflix’s One Piece Live-Action Zoro Screenshots
In the upcoming series, Japanese star Mackenyu (of Rurouni Kenshin: The Final and Chihayafuru fame) plays the fan-favorite Zoro.
From the visual, we can see that Mackenyu looks as buff and bulky as Zoro.
We have yet to get a good look at Mackenyu’s Zoro, though a new set of leaked screenshots may give us an idea of what to expect.
Again, the screenshots are blurry, meaning it’s tough to make out details. But they do seem quite accurate to the manga/anime, at least in terms of how it’s framed.
For now, fans will have to wait a while longer for an official look at Mackenyu’s Zoro.
After all, aside from being low-res, these leaks aren’t verified. Given their quality, they may be just fan-made images.
There’s no word yet on when the series will be released, though Netflix confirmed that the One Piece live-action will be released sometime in 2023.
