The hype for the live-action series continues to build as Netflix has been sharing some intriguing new screenshots and behind-the-scenes photos. Now, Netflix put the spotlight on the One Piece live-action series’ young Straw Hat Crew members.

On the show’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, new screenshots of the younger versions of Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji were shared. This confirms that the series will feature flashbacks to these characters’ pasts.

Along with the Straw Hat Crew, Netflix has also been sharing new images of the rest of the show’s large cast.

The One Piece live-action series from Netflix was originally announced way back in early 2020, though it is only this year that promotion for the show has ramped up considerably.

In January, Netflix shared the first look at the show via a teaser visual. Then at TUDUM 2023, Netflix finally shared the official teaser for the series.

This was followed by more promotional videos and images, though most of these focused on the Straw Hat Crew. But earlier this month, Netflix highlighted some other important members of the cast.

These include fan-favorite characters like Shanks, Koby, and Helmeppo. Plus, even Garp was featured as part of the recent batch of screenshots.

This is interesting given that Garp didn’t really play a role in the main events of the East Blue Saga, so it’ll be interesting to see why he’s being highlighted in the promotion.

The First Five Straw Hats Will Get Flashbacks in the Live-Action Series

Earlier today, Netflix shared more screenshots from the series. Specifically, these images are of the younger versions of Sanji, Usopp, Nami, and Zoro.

This essentially confirms that the upcoming series will feature flashbacks of the Straw Hat members; a welcome development for fans given that this implies the series will be faithful to the source material in this regard.

Aside from the four, Luffy was also shown during his younger days. Though this one isn’t surprising given that Luffy’s backstory with Shanks is an integral part of the story, so it makes sense that it won’t get cut.

The One Piece live-action series will stream exclusively on Netflix on August 31, 2023.

It will be available in its original English language option along with other dubs, including a Japanese dub that brings back the main voice cast members from the anime.
