Things are heating up in One Piece, as Luffy demonstrates how dangerous it is for Lucci to mess with an Emperor like him. As Sentomaru passes out, Lucci and the CP0 plot to prevent the Straw Hat Pirates and Dr. Vegapunk from ever leaving the island. Here are One Piece Chapter 1071's release date and time, and any spoilers!
Here's What Happened Before One Piece Chapter 1071
One Piece Chapter 1070 is titled The Strongest Form of Humanity, with a cover depicting the promising scientists brought together for the sake of mankind and the world, including Dr. Vegapunk, Caesar Judge, Queen, and a woman who resembles Stussy (MADS).
The chapter begins with Luffy in Gear Five form rushing over to Sentomaru, who collapses after Rob Lucci's surprise attack.
While Luffy apologizes to Sentomaru for distracting him, the latter reveals that he attempted to block Lucci's attack, claiming that he was not as stupid and careless as Luffy believes.
Lucci interjects angrily, saying that Sentomaru is very stubborn. As Lucci prepares to attack Sentomaru again, Luffy intervenes with his Gum Gum Dawn Whip attack, which causes his body to spin but he is unable to stop.
Jinbe yells at Luffy, telling him they need to take Atlas to Dr. Vegapunk right away to save her, but because Luffy can't control his spinning, he can't accompany Jinbe and Chopper.
Elsewhere, the seraphim S-Hawk is slicing through the CP0 foot soldiers, assisted by S-Shark, who uses his swim-swim fruit powers to stop their opponents, much to Kaku and Stussy's surprise.
Back in Dr. Vegapunk's lab, Franky sobs after witnessing S-Shark's swim-swim fruit powers on the battlefield, which reminded him of Senior Pink of the Don Quixote family, who can also use the same fruit powers.
Because there can never be more than one devil fruit of the same ability, Franky inquires if Senior Pink has died, but Dr. Vegapunk reveals that Senior Pink is still alive and is being held at Impel Down prison.
As a result, Franky wonders if Dr. Vegapunk has created the same devil fruit.
In response, Dr. Vegapunk shares that only Zoan-type devil fruits can be easily produced artificially, but when it comes to Logia, it is very difficult to reproduce, even after trying out everything he can think of.
For Paramecia-type devil fruits, Dr. Vegapunk discovers that as long as he has the user’s bloodline elements, he can synthesize and administer a special kind of blood to confer those powers to others, while pointing out the liquid running through the arms of S-Snake, much to the surprise of Franky, who exclaims that Dr. Vegapunk has made his own blood.
The chapter then shows S-Snake using her Love Love Mellow powers and S-Bear using his Ursa Shock attack against the CP0 foot soldiers.
Dr. Vegapunk also claims that the seraphims represent the highest level of science imaginable and that they are the strongest form of humanity in all of sea history.
After hearing all of this, Sanji realizes that the seraphims are intended to be a weapon for the marines to use against pirates like them.
Returning to the battlefield, Sentomaru is still standing in the face of Lucci's attacks. That's when Luffy steps in once more to fight Lucci on Sentomaru's behalf.
Luffy suddenly launches a new attack in which he manifests goggles from nothing while saying Gomu Gomu no Rocket, and he instantly defeats Lucci.
After Lucci passes out, Chopper, Jinbe, and Luffy follow the instructions of S-Snake to board the vacuum rocket in order to save Atlas and meet Dr. Vegapunk.
Before leaving, Jinbe compliments S-Snake as a kinder Boa Hancock, while Sentomaru leaves Dr. Vegapunk in Luffy’s care to escape from the island.
Bonney awakens from her slumber in the vacuum rocket on its way to the Labophase, only to be surprised by Luffy's weakened and aged appearance.
Following their arrival in the Labophase, all subsequent trips were canceled, the frontier dome was reinforced, and all reserve personnel was evacuated to Fabriophase to lock the factory.
Back on the battlefield, Sentomaru eventually passes out, giving the CP0 direct control over the seraphims.
However, while they wait for the marines, they are still debating what to do about Dr. Vegapunk.
Nami and Usopp question Dr. Vegapunk at Labophase about his motivations for bringing the Straw Hat Pirates to the island now that they know the government is coming to kill him because of his knowledge.
Regardless, they are all excited, particularly Franky, who realizes that Dr. Vegapunk will accompany them on their escape from the island.
Bonney, on the other hand, sneers angrily at Chopper, saying that she wants Dr. Vegapunk to return her father to normal instead of responding with a swarm of bugs, to which Chopper responds that it was not Dr. Vegapunk's fault.
Before the chapter ends, the CP0 has taken command of the seraphims, with Lucci ordering them to block all escape routes, keep an eye out for the island's defense systems, and not let anyone escape—not even an ant.
Kizaru is shown heading over to Egghead Island, saying that the Straw Hat Pirates are siding with Dr. Vegapunk to escape.
He also states that they will proceed as planned while instructing his men to send every battleship they can to the island.
