There is little doubt that the world is waiting for the announcement about the next James Bond and although there are a few favorites, people clearly have their own choices about who should play 007. For instance, Ana de Armas has revealed her unexpected choice of who should replace her No Time To Die co-star Daniel Craig.

Ana de Armas only appeared briefly in No Time To Die but got to work with Daniel Craig and her opinion of the next James Bond is important. When asked by WIRED about who she believes should play the new 007, the Blonde star revealed that her choice is a young actor on the rise.

"I think Paul Mescal is the one," de Armas said.

It's certainly an unexpected answer considering that most of the popular candidates are already established names and people are also choosing older actors as well. Still, Ana de Armas' choice is one that could work best for the James Bond franchise.

Paul Mescal is only 27 years old and appeared in films like God's Creatures and Aftersun. He was recently nominated for an Academy and BAFTA Film Awards for his performance as Calum in the latter movie. He is young enough to take on the franchise considering that the next 007 could appear in multiple movies in the future.

Interestingly, Ana de Armas' Ghosted co-star Chris Evans has a different, if more popular opinion on who should play 007. Evans pointed out that his Avengers: Age of Ultron co-star Aaron Taylor-Johnson should play James Bond in the future.

For now, the next 007 has not yet been officially announced. However, previous reports have suggested that Aaron Taylor-Johnson has already met with James Bond producers and it is believed that the meeting was a successful one. Needless to say, it is only a matter of time before we get an official announcement. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
