Nightwing Director Hypes Up the Future of the DCEU

The DCEU has a lot of movies gearing up for 2019, but the Nightwing film has been put on the backburner. Chris McKay, who is attached to helm Nightwing, opens up about Walter Hamada taking over, and says that he's very excited for what Hamada has planned for the DCEU in the future.

After the disaster that was Justice League, WB had decided to put the DC universe on hold so they could figure out what they were doing wrong with the franchise. This ultimately lead to Hamada being hired to spearhead DC films, and for now, it looks like everything is going smoothly.

Though we don't have release dates for The Batman, Nightwing, or the Batgirl movie, next year will see the release of Shazam!, Wonder Woman 1984, and possibly Todd Philipps Joker movie. Not to mention we're also getting an all-woman team-up with Birds of Prey.

As for the Nightwing film, I think the tone will depend heavily on Matt Reeves solo Batman movie. I have no doubt that McKay has insider knowledge on that film as well since his film's main character is closely tied to Bruce Wayne. If we're lucky, the DCEU's Nightwing could even make his debut in The Batman.

Fingers crossed.

No release date has been set for Nightwing.
