Nick Fury's Pager From Avengers: Infinity War Teased S.W.O.R.D. Before Spider-Man: Far From Home

Avengers: Infinity War is the culmination for most of the MCU's storylines, with very little set-up for anything aside from Avengers: Endgame and Captain Marvel. No one minded this since the movie was extremely fun and felt like a comic book event, for better or worse. It turns out that there was sort of a tease for something else entirely, as a fan who bought the pager Nick Fury used to contact Captain Marvel discovered a S.W.O.R.D. logo on the device.

The fan shared his discovery on Reddit, where a lot of people are enjoying the pseudo-long-term planning involved. Granted, Kevin Feige is better at this than others poorly making a cinematic universe in movies so we wouldn't move it past him but calling this is clearly not an official easter egg since fans only discovered it years after the movie came out. Plus, they already confirmed S.W.O.R.D. for the MCU's future.

S.W.O.R.D. handles all of the intergalactic threats that the Marvel universe faced, first introduced in Joss Whedon and John Cassaday's Astonishing X-Men. The organization was then teased at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, where Fury was chilling out in space, before eventually being confirmed for WandaVision on Disney+.

Fans can check out the official confirmation of S.W.O.R.D. on Spider-Man: Far From Home, which is now available on Blu-Ray and DVD. The organization will get a much bigger spotlight on WandaVision, which will also introduce the adult version of Monica Rambeau.
