New Wonder Woman 1984 Details Reveal How Steve Trevor Is Resurrected

People are probably still baffled about Chris Pine's unexpected return in Wonder Woman 1984. After all, Steve Trevor already went out in a truly (sad) explosive way in the first film. However, it looks like new details from the sequel have revealed just how Steve is resurrected.

Possible Spoilers Ahead! You Have Been Warned!

Steve's resurrection has been something that fans have theorized about since Pine was confirmed to appear in 1984. But how exactly is he brought back? According to We Got It Covered, sources have revealed that Maxwell Lord is the one who actually brings Steve back to life. The reason behind that is a tiny bit complicated.

In 1984, Maxwell Lord is reportedly in search of magical artifacts that will make him as powerful as a god. To do so, he enlists the help of Barbara Ann Minerva. Unfortunately, Barbara turns on Maxwell when she ends up being cursed by one of the artifacts and becomes Cheetah. Maxwell then calls on Diana Prince to protect him and she only agrees when he promises to bring Steve back to life.

That's certainly a loaded description but could that really be what will happen in 1984? It doesn't sound like the Diana we all know and love to make a deal with a madman just to bring back the love of her life. However, it could happen depending on how Maxwell sweetens the deal. In the meantime, we do recommend taking the details with a grain of salt.

The new details also confirm speculations that The Mandalorian actor Pedro Pascal will play Maxwell Lord. It would be interesting to see how Pascal handles the role next year.

Wonder Woman 1984 is scheduled for release on June 5, 2020.
